My Time in the German Air Force

I was called up for national service then decided to go voluntarily and signed up.
My tour ended after 15 years.

The Wing I was posted to, and stayed with all the time, was Jagdgeschwader 71 "Richthofen" in Wittmund, North Germany. The attaching name "Richthofen" is worn as a tradition in memory of "The Red Baron" Manfred Freiherr von Richthofen.

Within this wing I served in the maintenance squadron "Wartungsstaffel" and had a position in the subsection Cross Servicing / VASS / Transit Alert

The highlight of my military days!
